Senior Chiropractic Care

Aging is a normal part of life, and with it comes the opportunity to step back from work. A time to retire and enjoy the rest of your life with friends, family, and even yourself. With this newfound time, people look to new hobbies, new activities to remain energized.
Yet, older members of society begin to experience daily joint pain, and they learn their bodies take longer to heal. Longer than when they were young. Many seniors begin to suffer from chronic pain, which can be caused by even the most common health conditions. As such, they want to look for treatment that can alleviate that pain, and to let them get back to their new active lifestyle. Luckily, this is where chiropractic care – more specifically, geriatric chiropractic care – comes in.
Chiropractic care centers on the natural healing of the body, using gentle manipulation to help the body repair itself. For our much older patients, the primary focus is on ensuring mobility and stability of the body, along with pain relief. This is where geriatric chiropractic care comes in.
At this stage, the bones and muscles are weakened, making it more difficult to perform daily tasks than done in the past. Due to this, falling incidents and other injuries occur often, which can lead to more immobility and health problems. This can include degeneration in the spine, balance and coordination issues, and chronic pain. With this, past injuries, especially those that may not have healed properly, can become irritated and lead to further damage. In addition, the amount of healing time increases, taking longer to recover from certain conditions.
With geriatric chiropractic care, chiropractors focus on chronic pain and other ailments their elderly patients experience, and they treat those conditions to improve their overall health. After visiting the office, patients begin feeling increased mobility and range of motion, pain relief, better posture, and more energetic. Patients can experience less tissue inflammation, spinal tension, and even reduced risk of fall injuries. These are several examples of the benefits patients experience with chiropractic care. If they have been seeing a chiropractor since their childhood, teenage, and/or adult years, they continue seeing those benefits with geriatric care.
At Diamond Chiropractic, we maintain that same focus for our older patients. Geriatric chiropractic care is an effective and safe treatment method for seniors. It helps them remain healthy, independent, and stay active. Our seniors show they can stay healthy, stay active, and not feel the same pain they had when they walk into our clinic. All it starts with is a gentle spinal manipulation.
